Lisa Arrives in the U.S.
To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. - Isaiah 61:3 NLT
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. - Matthew 5:4 NIV84
"I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. [3] If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance." - Mark 8:2-3 NIV84
For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. [6] If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. [7] And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. - 2 Corinthians 1:5-7 NIV84
From August 30, 2021 (The official date in the divorce decree, although technically off by one day ), to March 9, 2023, the day Lisa arrived in the US for the first time to meet me, was exactly 555 days! When I think of the timing, first knowing that Persis (2nd spouse) showed up three days late to sign the initial divorce petition, and then how against all our expectations, God led us to finally have her fly here, it is just amazing! With 555 having such a strong meaning of God’s promised deliverance, (Trusting God in the Storm), I can think of no more of a satisfying “deliverance” than to see that picture above of me getting to hug my wife, taking our first step into God’s resurrection life in the area of marriage where we both had seen so much DEATH!
