The Grace to Love Again
“I have never seen a marriage like this ever!”
Lisa Chriswell - Quote from Lisa on a video call to her sister-in-law and niece, giving glory to God for our marriage on October 2, 2025 (4.5 years after God put us together as captured in the below audio series.
But wisdom is proved right [vindicated]
by all her children."
- Luke 7:35
In the story of two harlots and a faithful bride, Lisa Chriswell, is that faithful bride (MY faithful bride). This is the extraordinary journey of faith and perseverance, we both took, in order to receive His redemptions and the best “wine” which God had saved for last. (John 2:10).
The strain, the difficulty, the long periods of waiting, the pushbacks, and the relentless Satanic opposition you see against our being able to marry, in this series, is a type and a foreshadowing of just how difficult it will be for the Bride of Christ who will endure through the increasingly terrible days ahead, in order to make it to their own wedding to Jesus Christ, as an overcomer.
Please believe this prophetic example and warning to all us, from the Lord’s great mercy! Scripture has already told us that the true Christians must enter into the kingdom of heaven through MANY afflictions. (Acts 14:22) This story is a vivid picture of those many afflictions!

On day 412 of their journey—a number symbolic of the "cord of three strands"—they stand as victorious overcomers, recognizing that to truly make Jesus your Lord means choosing to lose your life for Him, knowing that He redeems the time and you will surely find it.
Ep. 86 - God No Longer Speaks
-
In a powerful rebuke of the 'sola scriptura' doctrine, Michael argues that this belief cuts the heart out of a living relationship with God, replacing the active guidance of the Holy Spirit with a dead, intellectual religion. He champions the example of Mary of Bethany, whose extravagant "waste" of expensive perfume on Jesus illustrates that true faith is not about simply doing good deeds, but about sacrificially pouring out your life for a living, speaking Lord.
Ep. 87 - When God Puts Your Faith on the Stretching Rack
-
Likening the agonizing experience of waiting on God's promises to being on a Roman stretching rack, Michael describes the fight of faith as a battle for focus against hopelessness and despair. He explains that even when circumstances, time, and Satan himself seem to block the path, one must stubbornly reject what is seen and hold fast to the belief that God is sovereignly orchestrating everything for our good and His glory.
Ep. 88 - Astonishing Day of Deliverance
-
After enduring a painful nine-month spiritual darkness where everything was stalled, Michael shares the stunning story of a sudden, three-fold deliverance from the Lord. The stunning prophetic timing behind Lisa's legal name change, a miraculous financial inheritance, and the release of his bags from customs serves as a powerful testament to God's faithfulness and a profound encouragement to persevere in faith.
Ep. 89 - The Devil In Your Ear
-
The most sinister aspect of spiritual warfare is how Satan hides his attacks within natural circumstances, requiring relentless faith just to recognize the battle is real. Reflecting on the relentless opposition he is facing—including his personal bags being held in customs for two months—Michael identifies this as the most intense antagonism of his life, yet a familiar pattern that proves God's people must never quit.
Ep. 90 - When God's Guidance Makes No Sense - Part 01
-
God's mysterious ways often test our faith, leading us down paths that seem to contradict His very promises, much like Abraham being asked to sacrifice Isaac. It is in these moments of profound perplexity, when we are brought to the point of surrender, that we truly discover His purpose and experience the beautiful enlargement of our hearts.
Ep. 91 - When God's Guidance Makes You Dizzy
-
In a heartfelt email, a listener apologizes for his past pharisaical judgment, where he wrongly equated Michael’s suffering with being outside of God's will. His powerful testimony serves as a profound illustration of moving beyond the "soured milk" of rigid doctrine to embrace the mysterious, often perplexing, and deeply personal walk of a living faith.
Ep. 92 - The Bank Says I'm a Fraud
-
Recounting a moment of almost unbelievable spiritual drama, Michael describes how his own bank allegedly told another bank he was a fraud, highlighting the intense satanic opposition that marks his daily life. This incident is just one example in a life so full of satanic and heavenly drama that it requires a high level of faith to believe, creating a profound sense of isolation understood only through the lens of a life completely surrendered to God.
Ep. 93 - Satan Can't Keep a Man of Faith Down
-
After a hellish night of spiritual warfare, Michael recounts how God performed an immediate healing of a woman's facial numbness through prayer, a miracle so incredible that she doubted anyone would believe her story. This powerful event, prophetically highlighted by a perfectly timed sign from the book of Esther, serves as a dramatic testament to persevering in faith even when God's will appears to contradict human logic and "break the law."
Ep. 94 - The Grace to Wait for God's Perfect Timing
-
In an intimate reflection on her spiritual journey, Lisa shares how the passing of another marker date has been met not with despair, but with a profound peace and patient trust in God's timing. She finds deep encouragement in the understanding that the Lord's delays are purposeful, designed to ripen our souls and make the eventual fulfillment of His promises "doubly precious."
Ep. 95 - No One Ever Told Me This About Fasting
-
Discover how the deep suffering of a fast, a state of total deprivation, paradoxically results in a spiritual reset that leaves one with a gentle and sweet disposition. This intentional journey through discomfort becomes a doorway to resurrection, where subduing the flesh allows for a profound infilling of God's grace and renewed strength for the road ahead.
Ep. 96 - This is Satan's Kingdom
-
As Christians, we must understand that we live in an enemy-occupied territory where hardships are not a sign of God's absence, but proof of our place in His kingdom, as Satan actively opposes those who follow Christ. Just as the numerous snakes blocking Michael’s path have been a prophetic warning of this spiritual war, a final, uniquely peaceful encounter with the largest serpent yet signals that his days of struggle are nearly over and a season of rest is at hand.
Ep. 97 - Providence of God or Confirmation Bias
-
Drawing from the wisdom of JC Ryle, Michael explains that the Christian life is a journey through an enemy-occupied territory where satanic opposition and severe hardships are not strange, but are rather signs that you are indeed in the Kingdom of God. Through the spiritual discipline of fasting, one can paradoxically find a divine reset, subduing the flesh to receive an untouchable grace that brings peace and strength for the battle ahead.
Ep. 98 - Promise from God or Foolish Presumption
-
Michael describes the spiritual principle of "digging ditches"—the act of preparing for God's supernatural provision by publicly declaring an impossible need and trusting in His promises against all odds. Just as with biblical prophecy, the ultimate vindication of this faith comes only when the promise is fulfilled, transforming a seemingly impossible journey into a powerful testament to God's miraculous ways.
Ep. 99 - The Supreme Miracle
-
In what he describes as an "ongoing miracle," Michael explains that the painful "crook in the lot" is actually a divinely designed crucible of fire and water, meant to test our faith and prove it genuine. It is through this tempering process of patiently submitting to God's will that we achieve true self-denial, finding our corrupt nature defeated and the beautiful character of Christ formed in us.
Ep. 100 - Has Our Ship Finally Come In
-
Following a period of intense spiritual testing on the "stretching rack," a direct and astonishingly specific answer to prayer has miraculously appeared: a 51-foot catamaran, purchased by an acquaintance, ready to sail from near Australia to New Zealand. This seemingly impossible providence confirms that after a long wait, God can orchestrate a breakthrough, proving that what seems like a far-fetched dream can become a tangible reality in an instant.
Ep. 101 - Satan Tempts Me Into Sin
-
Michael recounts a significant spiritual battle from August 18, 2022, detailing how he was tempted and ultimately fell into sin by engaging with a foolish and unbiblical email. Drawing parallels to Nehemiah's struggle, he explains how this satanic attack was a clever tactic to distract him and drain his spiritual energy, reinforcing the need to stay alert and focused on God's work.
Ep. 102 - There Will Be Signs
-
Michael delves into the astonishing providential patterns God has woven into his life, highlighting how specific numbers like 777 and 9/11 serve as divine signatures on major events. He connects these numerical markers to key moments with his wife, Lisa, and biblical events like the Exodus, viewing them as undeniable signs that his redemption is drawing near.
Ep. 103 - The Lie of Dignified Christianity
-
Michael's blog post challenges the conventional, dignified image of Christian life by examining the harsh realities faced by biblical figures from Moses to Jesus. He argues that true faith is not found in polished perfection but in the midst of suffering, weakness, and the undignified struggles that mirror the authentic human experience found in Scripture.
Ep. 104 - Divine Encounter
-
Michael passionately condemns the 'dignified' and often 'weird' teachings of modern professing Christians, expressing shame over a version of faith he finds detached from true biblical experience. Embracing the 'lack of dignity' in his own journey, he argues that the true path of faith mirrors the suffering and lowliness of figures like John the Baptist, rather than the polished and proper image often presented today.
Ep. 105 - Unexplainable Encounters
-
In a deeply personal reflection, Michael shares a series of recent, unexplainable encounters from his trail walks, detailing bizarre occurrences like a tree that seemingly twists on its own and a prophetic blast that coincides perfectly with Scripture. He interprets these profound, goosebump-inducing moments as divine signs meant to break him out of discouragement and serve as a tangible reminder that God and His angels are actively present, even when the path forward seems unclear.
Ep. 106 - 42 Moves in the Wilderness
-
Drawing a powerful parallel between his own spiritual journey and the Israelites' 42 moves through the wilderness, Michael reflects on how God uses a series of significant dates to keep him and his wife Lisa from growing complacent. He explains that this divinely orchestrated unrest, while difficult, is a beautiful process that forces them to live like sojourners, keeping their eyes fixed on the "pillar of cloud and fire" rather than finding false comfort in their current circumstances.
Ep. 107 - When We Don't Patiently Wait on God
-
In this deeply reflective audio journal, Michael explores the profound spiritual exhaustion that comes from navigating a path where God's guidance feels intentionally unclear, much like the Israelites being moved from one desolate sand dune to another. He posits that this process, which includes following providential signs that often lead to dead ends, is God’s way of ensuring complete dependence, preventing him from trusting the signs more than the Giver and forcing him into a state of "restful expectancy."
Ep. 108 - God's Unexpected Deliverance
-
Michael grapples with the exhausting nature of his faith journey, comparing his experience to the Israelites wandering in the wilderness, where God's solutions are often unexpected and require unwavering trust amidst uncertainty. Despite the temptation to give up, he finds solace in the belief that God's plan is unfolding, even if it means enduring a prolonged season of weakness to ultimately reveal a greater, more miraculous display of divine power.
Ep. 109 - The STORY of Faith
-
Acknowledging the profound weakness and uncertainty of his spiritual waiting, Michael contemplates how God's solutions are often unexpected, using a winding path of seemingly failed dates and contradictions to dismantle self-reliance and cultivate complete dependence. Ultimately, he concludes that faith is about consciously choosing to believe a greater story—that this difficult process is God's intentional design to reveal His sovereign power and prepare him for a glorious "lifting up" when the time is right.
Ep. 110 - They Will Hate You for Being Jealous for God
-
In a compelling discourse, Michael unpacks the biblical concept of being a "troubler of Israel," explaining how a truly spiritual life inevitably becomes a "touchstone" that creates conflict by revealing the superficiality of formal, traditional, or carnal Christianity. He asserts that this friction is a hallmark of a genuine prophetic ministry, as it exposes the true state of people's hearts and forces a confrontation between comfortable religion and the costly, living reality of following Christ.
Ep. 111 - The Blessing of Not Measuring Up
-
In this latest post, Michael delves into how God utilizes our personal struggles and perceived flaws to cultivate humility and steer us away from seeking the world's approval. He shares a powerful testimony about facing a sudden, intense emotional trial just moments after receiving a significant blessing, illustrating how these challenges are meant to destroy our pride and deepen our reliance on God as our sole provider.
Ep. 112 - Guarding Our Hearts in Days of Fear & Anxiety
-
Michael discusses the vulnerability of being a "feeler" and how the constant influx of the world's negativity can drain his energy and peace. Ep. 115 - We Don't Walk by Feeling But By Faith
-
Michael describes a profound state of spiritual and emotional exhaustion, where all natural hope has been extinguished after the passing of an expected delivery date. Ep. 116 - The Superiority of Humility
-
Explore with Michael the profound spiritual contrast between a life of pride and one of humility, especially when facing afflictions. True peace and strength are found not in avoiding hardship, but in humbly submitting to God's will through trials.
