How I Audited the Timing Patterns in My Life
For years, I have documented unusual numerical timing relationships surrounding events in my life, particularly involving 555, 666, and 777.
But there is an obvious objection:
What if I am simply cherry-picking the dates that work and ignoring all the dates that don't?
So instead of beginning with the numbers, I decided to do the opposite.
I went back through my complete chronology and asked a much more restrictive question:
If I completely ignore 555, 666, and 777, what events would an outside observer reasonably consider the genuinely major events of my life?
Only after establishing that list did I look at which of those events participated in the numerical patterns.
What Counted as a Major Life Event?
The standard was deliberately conservative.
An event had to represent a substantial change in my actual life circumstances—something such as a marriage, divorce, permanent marital separation, loss of contact with my children, homelessness, major interstate or international relocation, major legal outcome, significant property transaction, extraordinary financial reversal, or major vocational/ministry loss.
I did not automatically count something merely because it was spiritually meaningful to me.
Ordinary trips, dreams, signs, routine videos, publication dates, temporary Airbnb moves, administrative paperwork with little practical consequence, and dates that became interesting only because they produced a number were excluded.
We also rejected numerical relationships when the two endpoints had no natural connection apart from the number.
And if I meaningfully controlled both endpoints, we excluded that relationship from the strict count.
When multiple legitimate dates surrounded an event, we investigated which date had the strongest independent justification rather than selecting whichever date produced the desired number.
That actually caused several patterns I had previously believed were valid to be removed.
The Final Major-Life-Event List
After applying those rules, 29 Tier-1 major-life-event clusters remained:
2010–2012 — Breakdown and divorce of my first marriage — 777
May 27, 2011 — Interstate move to Alabama — No qualifying match
August 2012–January 2013 — Called into full-time ministry and eventually set down my previous business — No qualifying match

What Was the Final Result?
Out of those 29 independently qualified major-life-event clusters, 14 participate in at least one accepted 555- or 777-centered timing relationship.
The other 15 are genuine non-matches.
More specifically, 11 Tier-1 major-event clusters participate in a validated 777-centered relationship, while 4 participate in a validated 555-centered relationship. One event—the New Zealand property story—participates in both, which is why those figures add to 15 while there are only 14 unique participating major-event clusters.
After strict review, no 666 relationship remained in the Tier-1 major-life-event count.
That does not mean the 666 observations disappeared. I preserved them separately because some are genuinely interesting. But in each case, one endpoint failed the stricter major-event or control standard—for example, a personally chosen video-production or publication date. I therefore refused to use them to increase the headline result.
What Does “777-Centered” Mean?
I also do not want to disguise the counting convention.
Some relationships are exactly 777 ordinary elapsed days.
Others contain exactly 777 calendar dates when both endpoints are counted, which produces 776 ordinary elapsed days.
Still others have exactly 777 complete calendar days between the two endpoints, producing 778 ordinary elapsed days.
I recorded those distinctions explicitly rather than simply calling all of them “777 days.”
The same principle applies to the 555 relationships.
We Actually Removed Patterns That Helped My Case
One of the things I find most important about this audit is that it did not simply confirm everything I previously believed.
For example, I had previously used August 29, 2021 as the final date of my second divorce, which produced both a 777 relationship and a “5 years, 5 months, 5 days” marriage duration.
When we examined the actual divorce decree and Alabama's legal counting rule, however, the correct effective date turned out to be August 30, 2021.
So both of those former claims were removed.
We rejected another apparent 777 because the two events were not naturally related.
We rejected the direct April 21, 2021 → June 6, 2023 relationship because I had meaningful control over both dates.
We removed a repeated passport rejection from the major-event denominator when we concluded that it was better classified as a complication preventing a major event rather than a separate major life event itself.
And we moved all of the 666 observations out of the strict headline count when their endpoints failed the same standards.
In other words, the audit was allowed to make the pattern weaker.
That was the point.
What I Think the Audit Actually Shows
I am not claiming that 14 out of 29 constitutes 14 independent statistical trials. It doesn't.
Some relationships share endpoints. Some belong to larger connected sequences. Several use related lower-tier milestones as the opposite endpoint. So simply calculating a probability from “14 out of 29” would create a false impression of mathematical precision.
This is therefore not a probability proof of God.
It is a structured attempt to answer a much narrower objection:
“Are you simply selecting the events that happen to fit while ignoring everything else?”
After defining my major life events without regard to the numbers, preserving the misses, rejecting weak relationships, correcting dates that hurt my case, excluding relationships I controlled, and separating secondary observations from the strict evidence, the result is:
29 major-life-event clusters.
15 with no accepted 555/777 relationship.
14 that nevertheless participate in the same narrow family of timing relationships.
And that leaves me with the question I think is actually worth considering:
Why do these same numbers continue appearing around so many of the events that fundamentally changed the direction of my life—even after I deliberately removed the examples that could not survive a skeptical audit?
