Ep. 29 - Why Christians Are Falling Away (The Danger of "Breaking Trail")

Why do so many believers who start strong eventually fall away from the faith? In an era of "deconstruction" and "progressive Christianity," the temptation to leave the narrow path for a "new," easier “revelation” is growing. In this video, we use the analogy of “breaking trail” which Michael learned on the Tahoe Rim Trail after meeting an expert trail guide, to explain a critical spiritual danger: The path God has marked for you is often difficult, steep, painful and narrow, while the path to destruction looks beautiful, easy, and inviting. Using heartbreaking, real-life examples of former believers who were seduced by things like "oneness" theology, the finished work of Jesus gospel, New Age mysticism, false teaching about the Apostle Paul, and pride, we examine the anatomy of spiritual deception and how Satan tricks us into breaking trail and getting off God’s path. We look at the shameful story and outcome of one particular Christian woman who rejected our correction about the dangers of Oneness Theology and instead decided to continue in her own way.
